    Explore Sintra - Wine Tasting & Palace Experience 

    April 4th, 2017, Tuesday 10am-4pm 

    Today will be a day to remember as the entire HubSpot President's Club heads up to Sintra for a day of exploring the town of Sintra, a Palace experience & underground caves and wine tasting/lunch in an 18th century palace. 

    Lunch & Wine Tasting: Tivoli Palácio de Seteais

    The grounds take approximately 1 hour to 90 minutes to explore at a quick pace.  We will provide a map with the 3 highlights and the best walking approach.  

    Days Schedule;

    10:00am: Depart Hotel as a group (breakfast will be open 7-10am today).  Every guest will be provided a ticket and map when they board the bus.  

    10:45-11am: Entire Group arrives at Quinta da Regaleira Castle.  You will have 90 minutes for a self-guided tour.  We will provide a map!

    We ask all guests to be at Tivoli Palacio de Seteais at 1pm.  You have two options to get there.  You can either walk left out of the exit of Quinta da Regaleria Castle up the hill 3 minutes and you will see the hotel setback on the right in 350 meters.  Or after you visit the castle you walk down the hill to the town of Sintra  (~6 minute walk) and the memorable cobblestone streets.  Then you catch the bus at 12:45pm back up the hill to Tivoli Palacio de Seteais.

    12:45pm: Buses depart Sintra downtown for Tivoli Palácio de Seteais

    1-1:45pm: Wine Tasting 

    1:45-3:30pm: Lunch at Tivoli Palácio de Seteais

    3pm: Depart for Four Seasons Lisbon

    • We recommend HubSpotters eat breakfast at the hotel before we depart for Sintra.  Breakfast at Four Seasons is included for all attendees.
    • All HubSpotters are required to attend the Lunch at Tivoli Palácio de Seteais.
    • For those history buffs, while in town feel free to explore the Sintra National Palace as its a present-day historic house museum.
    • Buses to Sintra leave PROMPTLY @ 10:00am.  Please do not be late.

      You will be getting the opportunity to play one of the top 30 ranked courses in Europe that is only a 30 minute ride from the hotel.  The Penha Longa Resort 27 holes designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Jr is sure to impress!  With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and a soothing journey through one of Portugal's most inspiring landscapes.

      • HubSpot will cover club rentals.
      • Please bring cash for drinks at course and if you need more than 6 golf balls as you can buy them from the carts.  HubSpot will provide a quick lunch on the course.
      • Shuttle to course leaves PROMPTLY @ 8:00am.  Please do not be late.  We have a perfect pairing of 14 teams so if you don't show up you are letting your team down.

    Relaxation

    For those looking for rest and relaxation there are two options for you.  First look no further than the Four Seasons Spa.  Second, you can choose 150 EURO resort credit at the Four Seasons hotel.  

    Offerings:

    • Spa Treatments:  Indulge in a 60 minute massage or facial (Must be pre-booked).  With windows overlooking the garden and park, bask in a multi-sensory Spa experience that boats an indoor lap pool, multi-purpose treatment rooms, a relaxation room and Sodasi treatment menu.

    • 150 EURO Resort Credit: This resort credit can only be used at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon.  It can be used for dinner, beverages, and spa.  You can also use your resort credit to cover a portion or all of any additional nights at the Four Seasons.  If you decide to come early or extend your trip and choose resort credit then that will be deducted from the amount you owe! (subject to room availability).  

     

    Culture

    For those looking to take in some culture and history there are three options.  

    Activities Offered:

    • Cooking Class:  

      April 5th, 2017, Wednesday 10am-1:30pm.

      Preparation of a traditional Portuguese meal and Lunch (wine included).   Your private chef will teach you how to prepare a traditional Portuguese meal consisting of soup/entrance, main dish and dessert in a hands-on experience! Then you sit down and enjoy the meal you have prepared together with excellent Portuguese wines.

    • Coastline Tour with Lunch:

      April 5th, 2017, Wednesday 10am-3pm.

    ** Coastline Tour included Cascais & Cabo da Roca, this tour is a land tour, not by boat.  

    Discover Portugal's unspoiled Atlantic coastline on this private day trip from Lisbon to Estoril Coast and the westernmost point of continental Europe.  Stops will include one hour to explore the beachside town of Cascais, quick 15 minute stop at the tourist destination Cabo da Roca and another quick 20 minute stop at the less known Peninha Chapel.  It's a quick 10 minute walk to Peninha Chapel to experience 360º views of the coastline.  Around 1:30pm we will enjoy a leisure lunch on the water in Cascais before heading back to Lisbon.

    • WineMaker for the Day:  

      April 5th, 2017, Wednesday 2:00-5:30pm.

      One winemaker from Alentejo will give some explanations about the Portuguese wine regions, the grapes’ varieties, and you will have the opportunity to experience a wine tasting with three wines and to know how to make your own wine.  Following the blending session you will take home a bottle of their blend with your own custom label.
